The Barroso II Commission and the Need to Extend Europe 2020
Janis A. Emmanouilidis
EPC Commentary
Brussels 02/2010
Now that the Barroso II Commission has been confirmed the EU needs to get to work on an ambitious grand project if it is not to be marginalised by emerging powers. In this Commentary Janis Emmanouilidis argues that the remit of the Europe 2020 project (originally planned to focus on economic matters) should be extended to other areas, especially in the realm of security.
The Commentary was published on 9 February 2010 and can also be found on the EPC website. See here.
