At this Weekly Update, EPC Director of Studies Janis A. Emmanouilidis and EPC Chief Executive Fabian Zuleeg shared their analysis of the latest developments at EU and member state level, including on COVID-19 and Europe's response to the ongoing crisis. They were joined by Giovanni Grevi, Head of EPC Europe in the World Programme and Senior Fellow, and David O'Sullivan, Chair of the EPC Governing Board.
This week the spotlight was on the international dimension of the COVID-19 crisis: What will be the impact of COVID-19 on the international order? Will the Coronavirus trigger de-globalisation or spur a different approach to globalisation and interdependence? What are the implications of the current pandemic for Europe's strategic environment and international role, and what should Europe's priorities be in defining a global response to COVID-19?
