This online EPC Update focused on Ursula von der Leyen's fourth State of the Union speech, delivered in the European Parliament on 13 September 2023. The Commission President took stock of the achievements over the past year and set out her plans for the year ahead.

How can the EU continue its course towards a greener, fairer, and more digital Union while responding to the multiple consequences of the war in Ukraine, a changing geopolitical and geoeconomic environment, demographic developments, and the need to prepare for future enlargement?
