This EPC Update and Post-summit Briefing assessed the discussions and outcomes of the meeting of the European Council on 23-24 June. The focus of the summit – and thus our Update – was on four main areas: the war in Ukraine, the economy, the Conference on the Future of Europe, and Wider Europe. What are the Union's next steps on Ukraine? Is the war a "wake-up call" for the Union to reconsider its neighbourhood policy and revive the enlargement process? What comes after the Conference on the Future of Europe? Will EU leaders agree on a future reform path? How can the EU progress in the field of economic governance and find efficient ways to react to the cost-of-living crisis?
