YouTube, 10.10.2022
Online Briefing
At this EPC Update and Post-Summit Briefing, we covered three major topics related to the difficult months ahead. First, we discussed the outcomes of the upcoming informal meeting of the heads of state and government in Prague, including the prospects for the European Political Community. Second, we analysed the state of the EU economy and Europe's possible responses to a looming recession fuelled by the cost-of-living crisis and the war in Ukraine. Finally, we considered the likely consequences of the recent elections in Sweden and Italy and asked whether the success of radical right-wing parties is a harbinger of things to come in other EU countries.
Speakers: Philipp Lausberg, Policy Analyst, European Policy Centre; Fabian Zuleeg, Chief Executive, European Policy Centre; Janis A. Emmanouilidis, Director of Studies, European Policy Centre;
Moderator: Jacki Davis, Senior Adviser, European Policy Centre
