„Das Parlament ist eher ein Ort blinden Gehorsams", sagt unterdessen ein namentlich nicht genannter langjähriger EU-Abgeordneter zur AFP, der davon ausgeht, dass von der Leyen am Ende eine Mehrheit haben wird: „Es schreit, aber am Ende macht es, was von ihm verlangt wird." „Ich gehe davon aus, dass es am Ende eine Mehrheit geben wird", sagt auch Janis Emmanouilidis vom Brüsseler European Policy Center (EPC). Das werde von der Leyen aber auch etwas kosten. Derzeit versuche man im EU-Parlament allerdings noch „den Preis hochzudrücken".
