布鲁塞尔"欧洲政策中心"的欧洲问题专家艾玛努伊利迪斯（Janis Emmanouilidis）表示，由于新一届议会的构成比例，人民党、社会党、绿党以及自由党议会党团必须组成一个大联盟展开合作。他表示，选举后欧盟的基本路线并不会出现大的变化。他说，"我们不会看到一次对欧盟的敌意接管。我们应当认真对待选举，但也不应当过度紧张和过于悲观。过去数年间，欧盟一直表现出强大的抵抗力，今后也仍将如此。"
他表示，经历了债务危机和难民危机之后，新一届议会必须为应对一系列同美国、俄罗斯和中国的新的经济危机做好准备。艾玛努伊利迪斯表示，在经济问题上，也有一系列方向性的决策需要新议会来定夺，"将会出现更多新的危机。我们现在无法知道，这些危机是源自于老问题呢，还是全新的挑战。但我们必须做好应对风暴的准备。"
