In der Flüchtlingskrise beginnt EU-Ratspräsident Donald Tusk eine mehrtägige Vermittlungsmission. Zu Mittag trifft er mit Bundeskanzler Werner Faymann zusammen, danach reist er nach Slowenien, Kroatien, in das Nicht-EU-Land Mazedonien und nach Griechenland. Die griechische Regierung kritisiert seit Tagen die Verschärfung von Grenzkontrollen entlang der Balkanroute, wodurch sich tausende Flüchtlinge in Griechenland stauen. [...]
Deutschlands Kanzlerin Angela Merkel wirbt weiter für eine europäische Lösung der Flüchtlingskrise. Zu Mittag empfängt sie in Berlin den kroatischen Regierungschef. Zeitgleich trifft EU-Ratspräsident Donald Tusk in Wien mit Bundeskanzler Werner Faymann zusammen. EU-Experte Janis Emmanouilidis vom European Policy Center sagt. Es sei die Aufgabe des Ratspräsidenten, die verschiedenen Standpunkte einzuholen. Eine Aufgabe, die aktuell sehr schwierig sei.
Schwierig auch weil durch das Vorgehen Österreichs mit seiner Einladungspolitik viel diplomatisches Porzellan zerschlagen worden sei, so der EU-Experte Emmanouilidis weiter.[...]
