Europaskeptische und europafeindliche Parteien legen bei den Wahlen in Europa zu. Gerade erreichten Rechtspopulisten in Österreich 30 Prozent. In Brüssel geht die Befürchtung um, dass EU-Gegner bei der Europawahl im Mai 20 Prozent gewinnen könnten.
Die AfD vor den Toren Brüssels
Die Bundesrepublik ist da noch so etwas wie ein Fels in der Brandung. Aber die AfD hat es bei der Bundestagswahl aus dem Stand beinahe in das Parlament geschafft. Das wurde in Brüssel sehr aufmerksam registriert, wie der Politologe Janis Emmanouilidis feststellt: "Es ist natürlich ein Signal, wenn es eine Partei mit einem derartigen Programm innerhalb weniger Monate auf 4,7 Prozent schafft."
Sollte die Partei um Bernd Lucke ein ähnlich gutes Resultat bei den nächsten Europa-Wahlen im Mai schaffen, dann wäre sie problemlos im Europäischen Parlament. Denn für die Europawahl gilt in Deutschland nur eine Hürde von drei Prozent.
