Dopo quasi dieci ore di accesissime trattative i governi della zona euro hanno messo a punto nella notte tra mercoledì e giovedì un atteso piano di salvataggio della moneta unica. Il timore è che il nuovo salvagente possa non essere decisivo per il futuro dell'unione monetaria. I commenti ieri dipendevano inevitabilmente dalle diverse prospettive degli osservatori. Chi prevedeva un fallimento della riunione di mercoledì sera doveva ammettere a denti stretti che il consiglio europeo era riuscito a partorire l'impensabile. Chi invece sperava in un pacchetto innovativo e ambizioso è rimasto deluso da un insieme di misure che ricalcano pur rafforzandola l'intesa del 21 luglio.
