Medio año después de aplicar el Tratado de Lisboa para adaptarse al mundo moderno, la Unión Europea (UE) sufre una creciente pérdida de influencia global y aún ignora cómo revertir el fenómeno, afirman analistas.
"Hay una gran tendencia: la UE está perdiendo influencia en los asuntos internacionales", afirmó a BBC Mundo Janis Emmanouilidis, analista principal del Centro de Política Europea, con sede en Bruselas.[...]
Otra cumbre que la UE había convocado para la semana próxima en Barcelona con países del Mediterráneo y de Medio Oriente también fue postergada, según medios españoles por el temor a un fracaso (aunque Madrid adujo que lo hacía para preservar el diálogo israelí-palestino).

de la historia mundial, es una región más entre otras, y está lidiando
con el hecho de que ya no tiene el mismo papel que tuvo en el siglo XX",
